About

I am a barrister at Fountain Court, a commercial set in Middle Temple, London.  I was called to the Bar in 1988 and became a QC in 2006.  I specialise in commercial litigation, professional negligence and regulation of financial and legal services.  I sit on a part-time basis as a Deputy High Court Judge and I am a member of the Abu Dhabi Global Markets Appeal Panel.  I am a Bencher of Inner Temple.  For more details, see here.

For a 6 year term between 2010 and 2015, I was appointed a member of the Bar Standards Board, the regulatory body responsible for regulating the Bar, and for the last 3 years of my term I was the Vice Chair of that Board and responsible for a program of reform of the regulatory regime.  For 7 years I was Equality officer for my chambers.

I will be making occasional posts on topics such as legal services regulation, ethics, equality and diversity issues affecting the legal profession, and legal issues more generally.
